• Protect your Medicare card like you guard your credit cards and checkbook
• Don’t carry your Medicare card with you unless you are going for medical treatment or tests. If you need emergency medical care and don’t have your card, the doctor or hospital can verify your eligibility without your card if necessary
• Don’t give your Medicare number to someone who comes to your door or calls you
• Never show anyone your medical or prescription records without first talking to your doctor or pharmacy
